Focused Ultrasound (FUS), a non-invasive therapeutic technology, has gained substantial momentum following the approval of multiple indications. Focused ultrasound shows promise across a variety of clinical areas including cardiology, endocrinology, musculoskeletal medicine, neurology, oncology, urology, and women’s health. The use of ultrasound-guided focused ultrasound (USgFUS) is expanding due to the real-time feedback, flexibility and lower cost the use of this technology offers. Ultrasound is ideal not only for energy delivery, but also to identify, guide and target tissue in real time, as well as to monitor treatment results. As this field has advanced, the needs of researchers have changed. At Verasonics, we continue to adjust our portfolio to address the evolving needs of focused ultrasound research and product development.
Focused Ultrasound Transducers
Verasonics offers six FUS Elite transducer pairings. These transducer pairings are designed to advance biomedical research in ultrasound-guided focused ultrasound (USgFUS).
The FUS transducers offer high efficiency over a broad bandwidth and highly uniform acoustic output at the radiating surface ideal for focused ultrasound applications. Coupled with a high-resolution phased array transducer mounted coaxially, these transducer pairings provide users with an ideal combination for this level of research and experimentation.
Verasonics solutions are used worldwide at numerous institutions and companies for focused ultrasound research and product development. The Vantage 64 LE, Vantage 128 and Vantage 256 systems are available in high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) configurations, which enable both energy delivery and imaging using the same transmitters, for flexible and comprehensive exploration with this technology.
