Verasonics is excited to announce two significant developments for customers.

Free Software Updates

All Vantage users will now have access to the latest software releases offering new features, latest tools, bug fixes, and more, with the release of Vantage Software Version 4.0.0 in the coming weeks. Until now, only Vantage systems that were under warranty or extended warranty were eligible to receive software updates. Verasonics has modified this software update policy so that all customers can benefit from the improvements that are continually being made to the Vantage platform. Verasonics typically distributes Vantage software updates 3 to 4 times a year.

“Verasonics is investing heavily in the Vantage technology and we strive to provide the most innovative and flexible research systems,” said Lauren Pflugrath, Verasonics’ President & CEO. “We would like all of our customers to be able to take advantage of these investments, regardless of budget limitations.”

According to Verasonics’ VP of Customer Service, Mike Pierce, “With the change of policy to make software updates universally available, we are making corresponding changes to and reducing the prices for our Extended Warranty Program.” The Vantage Extended warranty will continue to include the same hardware coverage, e-mail technical support, additional simulation licenses and free attendance at Verasonics’ Vantage training classes.

New Dynamic HvMUX Programming Model

1024 MUX UTA

The other significant development coming from Verasonics is the introduction of its new Dynamic HvMUX Programming Model.

This capability allows dynamic creation of multiplexer apertures, including non-contiguous apertures and sparse apertures. It also enables the user to define active elements that are clustered around a specific origin point on the array.

“The flexibility to create arbitrary sub-apertures will allow experimenting with different volume scanning methods and optimization of acquisition sequences for various applications,” said Ron Daigle, PhD, CTO of Verasonics.

The new method is especially useful for multiplexed matrix arrays, such as those used with the 1024 MUX Universal Transducer Adapter (UTA), but will also provide additional programming flexibility for customers that use the UTA 260-MUX adapter and with multiplexed transducers. More information about the Dynamic HvMUX Programming Model is available here.

The new Dynamic HvMUX Programming Model is included in the release of Vantage Software Version 4.0.0 and will be available to all Vantage customers at no cost.
