New Application Scripts Available for Vantage NXT

Adaptive Ultrasound Imaging (AUSI): Adaptive Reconstruction Based on Tissue Motion

Verasonics is excited to demonstrate the flexibility of their beamforming by introducing a new script that combines the advantages of optimized B-mode imaging with the capabilities of high frame rate acquisitions. The AUSI script detects the motion of each pixel in the imaging field and adapts so that each pixel is reconstructed based on this information. This example script demonstrates one of the many advantages of our patented pixel-oriented beamforming and eliminates the traditional trade-off between image quality and frame rate. The concept demonstrated in this application is ideal for dynamic studies like cardiovascular imaging, musculoskeletal scans, and contrast agent tracking.

FastSave: High-Speed RF Data Streaming to SSD Storage

Ideal for high-throughput experiments, FastSave is a powerful new tool designed to enable continuous RF data streaming directly to SSD storage at speeds up to 6.6 GB/s, limited only by your system’s DMA rate. It includes optimized hardware recommendations, efficient parallel file writing, and ready-to-use sequences for quick setup. In addition, the sequence has been designed so that reconstruction and display of frames at a lower rate than the acquisition can still occur to be able to continuously monitor the experiment.

Key Highlights:

  • Recommendations for storage devices that can handle full-speed data acquisition.
  • Uses compiled MEX functions to bypass MATLAB bottlenecks and write data in parallel threads without interrupting your workflow.
  • Includes a complete example for the Vermon 1024-ch 2D matrix probe and the L22-14vX probe, plus scripts for offline reconstruction and data validation.

Golay Pulse Compression Examples

Vantage NXT was engineered to deliver the transmit fidelity and linearity required for high performance in waveform coding techniques. To help customers leverage this capability for their research applications, the following example scripts showcasing pulse compression using Golay codes have been added to the Community Portal:

  • Flash angles imaging for the L35-16vX transducer
  • Full matrix capture for the P5-64vN transducer

Latest Webinar

Last month, we hosted an online seminar dedicated to FastSave in our Meet the Ultrasound Scientist Webinar Series. For customers unable to join, or who would like to review the material, the full recording will be available in the coming weeks on the Verasonics Community Portal for on-demand viewing.

Verasonics also offered an exciting webinar, “High-Performance Ultrasound with Vantage NXT: Photoacoustic and Optimized B-mode Imaging, Golay Codes, FastSave, and SWE”, covering the latest enhancements and features of the Vantage NXT Research Ultrasound System. This webinar will be posted on our website as soon as our collaborators have published their research.
