Analog Inputs for Time-Aligned External Signal Capture

Two high-performance ±5 V SMA analog input channels are available for capturing auxiliary signals such as physiological markers, engineering sensors, or experiment-specific analog waveforms.

Enables simpler integration of analog or digital data captured by external devices*

    • Physiological data (e.g., EKG, temperature, arterial pressure, etc.)
    • Engineering sensor data (e.g., LVDTs, strain gauges, accelerometers, etc.

Samples are time-tagged and can be aligned with RF acquisition data, enabling precise offline correlation and analysis.

* Depending on analog signal levels, it may require connection to an external signal conditioner or amplifier before connecting to the analog inputs.

Synchronization Triggers

Vantage® NXT offers highly configurable triggers that let you connect and synchronize virtually any external device.

Four reconfigurable BNC connectors can act as Trigger In or Trigger Out, giving you freedom in how your experiment is run.

    • Programmable trigger behavior – Rising/Falling edges or High/Low level, per-event‑ timeouts, and selectable polarity and voltage level (3.3 V or 5 V) on outputs.
    • Deterministic timing – Trigger timing quantized to the 62.5 MHz Sync Clock, matching the sequencer’s PRI resolution for low-jitter‑ control.

Researchers can tailor activation modes, voltage levels, and pulse timing to match their equipment requirements. The result is deterministic, low-jitter coordination across your full system, enabling more reliable acquisition, cleaner timing alignment, and repeatable experimental control.

Ideal for applications such as:

    • HW synch
    • Photoacoustics
    • Script debug

Clock I/O for Multi-System Synchronization

The Vantage® NXT Clock In and Clock Out connectors make it easy to lock multiple Vantage NXT systems to a single timing reference using the Verasonics Synchronization Module for phase-accurate transmit and receive sampling.

Quadrature Encoder Inputs for Position-Aware Data Acquisition

Vantage® NXT includes three built-in quadrature encoder ports for position-based triggering and co-registration with ultrasound data.

Allows for the referencing of position encoder data with ultrasound acquisitions and pulse-on-position operation

Real-time reading of encoder counts

Supports speeds up to 2.8 million counts per second

Applications include:

    • Position registration
    • Automated scanning
    • Robotics
